WVU Announces Football Times

MORGANTOWN, WV -- West Virginia University has released the home game times for the 2007 football season.

The Mountaineers open the 2007 campaign on Saturday, September 1, at home against Western Michigan in a 3:30 p.m. game. The will also play against East Carolina, Mississippi State, Louisville, Connecticut and Pitt at home. The Western Michigan and East Carolina contests will be televised on a regional basis, while the Louisville game is an ESPN prime time matchup.

Sat., Sept. 1, Western Michigan/Parents’ Day, 3:30, ERT

Sat., Sept. 22, East Carolina/Varsity Weekend, 3:30, ERT

Sat., Oct. 20, Mississippi State/Homecoming, Noon

Thurs., Nov. 8, Louisville/Mountaineer Day, 7:30, ESPN

Sat., Nov. 24, Connecticut, Noon

Sat., Dec. 1, Pitt, TBA

A limited number of 2007 season tickets will go on sale Monday, July 9,

They are available at the Mountaineer Ticket Office , online, or at 1-800-WVU GAME. The Mountaineers begin fall practice on August 4.

Lewis County 4-H Wraps-up Camp


The Lewis County 4-H Camp wrapped up a 5 day camp at Jackson's Mill with a spirited tribal council meeting that was open to parents and the community. All indications were that the heavy rains of the past few days didn't damper the spirits of the campers. The final event included skits and songs and the presentation of many scholarships.

Hopefully, MountainCast will have more coverage of camp to come.

Brickstreet Makes Surplus Payment To WV

The governor announced that the Offices of the Insurance Commissioner received a check from BrickStreet last week in the amount of $5,865,954.62, including principal and interest.

Governor Machin announced that there is a drought emergency for the following countines:

Barbour, Boone, Braxton, Brooke, Cabell, Calhoun, Clay, Doddridge, Fayette, Gilmer, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Kanawha, Lewis, Lincoln, Logan, Marion, Marshall, Mason, Mingo, Monongalia, Nicholas, Ohio, Pleasants, Preston, Putnam, Raleigh, Randolph, Ritchie, Roane, Summers, Taylor, Tucker, Tyler, Upshur, Wayne, Webster, Wetzel, Wirt, Wood and Wyoming.
